Our history
In 1980, Grandpa Tom of Michigan became bored with the salt and pepper shakers on his supper table. He wanted to enhance his meals with a more intriguing mixture of seasonings and thus began to experiment, combining spices in various ratios until he discovered the taste he would enjoy at supper every night. He called it SUPERSALT.
Grandpa Tom created SUPERSALT for meals already cooked and ready to eat (one of his favorites was a baked potato with nothing but SUPERSALT on it). But very soon, Grandpa Tom’s wife and children
got a hold of the delicious spice mixture and added it to their cooking, making delightfully seasoned poultry, beef, soups, vegetables, and even Thanksgiving turkey. Before long, they all found that they couldn’t cook without it.
With great demand for SUPERSALT from the extended family and friends across the country, Grandpa Tom chose higher quality spices and defined his gourmet recipe. He then granted his granddaughter’s wish to develop the brand in his name: Grandpa Tom’s Original Recipe SUPERSALT.
